We designed the PowerFlex™ to reduce installation time and save wall space. it allows equipment (i.e. televisions and baluns) to be protected by the same surge and power device that is protecting the AV equipment. Just plug the included power cord into your surge protector and connect to the PowerFlex inlet. By running all audio and video equipment through a common surge protector, you'll avoid complications caused by ground loops. Many installers use Cat5/6 in the walls to run component, composite, and HDMI signals from the equipment to the television. We included dual outlets to take advantage of installers needs for today's, and tomorrow's, future applications.
