Sept. 20, 2023 - If winning awards and attracting big audiences is a measure of success, then Draper At Home is definitely on the rise. Our home solutions received several awards at the recent CEDIA Expo show in Denver. We also drew more visitors than ever before to see both our inside and outside booths.
Awards Fever
Draper At Home has been busy over the past year, developing new shading solutions especially for the residential market. Three of our latest solutions received various awards at the 2023 CEDIA Expo:
Gabled Bottom-Up FlexShade
The solution that really seemed to grab the imaginations of awards judges was the Gabled Bottom-Up FlexShade. Reviewers and booth visitors liked the ability to shade abled windows without covering parts of the surrounding wall space. They were also particularly impressed by the flexible hembar which rolls up with the fabric, allowing full retraction of the shade panel. Like the entire Draper At Home line, the Gabled Bottom-Up FlexShade is powered by Somfy to integrate into smart home networks.

FlexShade Tension ZIP
This outdoor shading product was a finalist in the prestigious CEDIA Smart Home Awards, along with the Gabled Bottom-Up. Although neither product won its category, it really is an honor to make it to the final round of judging. The Tension FlexShade ZIP impressed the judges and the crowd with its ability to be mounted at any angle. It controls harsh glare on existing pergolas, patio rooftops, and other angled windows to help create a more comfortable outdoor living space. The ZIP feature captures the fabric’s edge ensuring a more secure fabric retention system and improving light control.
StyleLine
Our shading solutions didn’t get all of the attention. StyleLine, a new fixed frame projection screen, also received a lot of kudos, including a Best of Show award from Projector Central.
The StyleLine is designed to be an easy-to-install, easy to configure “one stop shop.” Instead of having multiple products with different options and choices, StyleLine combines all the popular options into one solution. There are two bezel frame sizes and an edgeless trim option, plus a channel for adding LED backlighting. The light frame comes together quickly and our entire line of TecVision surfaces – from standard white to ALR – is available. The StyleLine will begin shipping later this year.
As Projector Central asked in an announcement about the award, “Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?”
