The monitor replacement by FAA is just one of the agency's nationwide programs to provide the latest tools, training and technology for its air traffic controllers and technicians to ensure the safety of the national air transportation system. The ISIS 2Kx2K is the world’s leading square display for use as a direct replacement for Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)s in air traffic control (ATC) consoles. CRTs were the primary technology for ATC monitors for FAA. Its reliable design and advanced ergonomic capabilities enable operators to display high-quality, high-resolutions images 24/7/365. Barco signed a contract with FAA in Summer 2011 to supply the displays.
