Past achievements, future objectives
This first CSR report lists
our most relevant sustainability achievements and objectives, zooming in
on the 2014 figures in three fields: our people, our community and our
planet. That means that you’ll read more on some exciting past
initiatives to keep the Barco team energized and engaged (people), to
help create a safe, healthy world for all our stakeholders (community)
and to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment (planet).
Results of first global carbon footprint analysis
Just a few examples? In
the report, you’ll learn about initiatives of our HR colleagues in the
fields of training and employee well-being; the first achievements of
our Barco Foundation; our successful plan to engage our suppliers in our
sustainability efforts and, of course, the results of our first global
carbon footprint analysis.
Next report coming up in June
Under the impulse of
our Corporate Sustainability Committee, sustainability is moving high on
Barco’s corporate agenda. This first CSR report which was prepared in
accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) sustainability
reporting guidelines (G4), has helped us identify what issues we should
focus on to become a more sustainable company.
What’s next? Well,
we’ve already developed a set of action plans and a first round of
initiatives has already kicked off. We will give a first update on our
intentions and on our 2015 achievements in our next CSR report, which
will be published just before the summer break! So keep an eye on this
news section to stay tuned on how we’re moving forward to a more
sustainable Barco …
